How bout' NOW?

Now, these pictures make me think that they do look alike. I am on the fence but there are times when I see the same expressions in each of them! Either way, I really think my kids are friggin' SUPER CUTE!!!!

NYA BLISS

IYLA JADE

LEILA SKY

When I am feeling guilty...

These "sister quotes" make me feel like I made the right decision in giving my children siblings.

~When sisters stand shoulder to shoulder, who stands a chance against us? ~Pam Brown
~Is solace anywhere more comforting than in the arms of a sister. ~Alice Walker
~What's the good of news if you haven't a sister to share it? ~Jenny DeVries
~How do people make it through life without a sister? ~Sara Corpening
~The best thing about having a sister was that I always had a friend. ~Cali Rae Turner

Are you friggin' serious

Nya informed me today that "all she wants to do is KISS Ty-Ty" and she is mad that I won't let her. Come on, I was supposed to have at least 10 more years before this became a topic of discussion. I informed her that "this type of behavior is inappropriate" for a 5 year old. I also proceeded to delete all the "teeny bopper" Disney shows from the dvr. She will be watching DORA, DIEGO, OLIVIA and Charlie and Lola from now on. UGH!!!!!

Setting the record straight

Leila Sky

Iyla Jade

Nya Bliss
So, EVERYBODY says that my kids either look exactly alike or NOTHING alike. I am posting pictures of each of them at the same age (6-7 months).

No pictures lately

I have not been taking too many pictures lately but here are few snap shots of Leila getting used to her new uneventful life.

Nya is 14

I have been writing little notes on Nya's lunch box napkins for school everyday. They say things like, "we miss you" or "have a great day". Well, on Thursday, I wrote one that said, "You are my best friend". When I picked her up she had a scowl on her face and I said, "what's the matter?" and she said (in a very angry voice)..."REALLY MOMMY, YOU WROTE 'YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND'. MY TEACHER READ IT OUT LOUD BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT IT WAS (Nya doing air quotes) 'SO CUTE'. THANKS FOR EMBARRASSING ME!!!"

What the ???? I thought I had until like 6th grade before she would say things like that.

KINDERGARTEN

My girl is officially a kindergartener. She is like an old pro by day two. I am very lucky to have such a confident, self assured little girl. She has no reservations or hesitations whatsoever. Her teacher's name is Miss Federle and she is ADORABLE! I am very excited for all the things my girl will learn this year, I am also really appreciating a nice solid routine again.

Vero Beach

We went over to visit Stacy and the boys. The kids were all pretty good and Stacy was a gracious and wonderful hostess as always. We did not get a ton of pictures because we were watching 6 children and that kept our hands pretty tied up most of the time.

6 MONTHS OLD ALREADY!

My little Leila Sky is six months old already. She had her well check and she is 15 pounds (25th %), 28 inches long (90th %) and her head is in the 10th %. She tried cereal for the very first time today, she did pretty good for her first time at it. Her hip surgery is in 2 days...GULP!!!

Maine

Another perk to the Boston doctor visit was that I got to spend 2 days with my sister and her family. My sister drove into Boston (for the appt) and picked us up at the hospital. My niece and nephew might just be the cutest kids on the planet. We had so much fun and they all loved baby Leila. We went to Prescott Park (flower pictures) and then we had a yummy "Maine" dinner from Bob's clam hut. The next day went to the Ogunquit beach for a stroll and then after wards we went and walked around Newbury Port, Mass. My sister was champ for walking us into the airport and then driving home is the worst traffic EVER!!!

Leila Sky

So, as I am sure you all know by now...Leila still needs the surgery. I went to Boston (she was great on the plane) and we saw the doctor. The doc examined her, reviewed all her notes, x-rays, ultrasounds and decided that surgery is the ONLY option. I found comfort in the fact that she said she would have treated Leila with the same treatment plan that Leila's current ortho has used. The surgery is booked for August 19th, gulp! Side note, I really, really enjoyed spending one on one time with my sweet little girl. I recommend that any of you with multiple children, make a point to spend at least 24-48 hours alone with each child a few times per year because you will find a whole new appreciation for these little guys.
