CHRISTMAS!!!
Christmas with kids is the best. Nya is having a blast and Iylah is just happy about all the excitement. I am posting pics of the finished Christmas cookies for Santa. Iylah loving her roller coaster gift and some random shots of present opening. I will post a video of Iylah going down the roller coaster in a little while. The carrots are gone from the yard so maybe Santa's reindeers really did eat them...

Christmas so far...
I have been keeping the girls pretty busy over the break. We went to Sea World Christmas one night with Suzie, Sebastian and Owen and we all had a blast. Iylah loved the Elmo x-mas show (of course) and Nya loved the winter ice skating show. We had so much fun and they were both really great. Nya had Christmas camp at Cranium Clubhouse (thanks MOM) and she has been keeping busy with tons of crafts when she is at home. Most of our friends are either out of town or have a ton of family in town so we do not have a lot of people to hang with like usual. My friend Julia is here with her baby so we have seen her a lot. We are doing Nya's ginger bread house and Iylah's hand print ornament kit tomorrow and then making cookies for Santa tomorrow night!!!

Still stuck...
Soooooo, I am still very conflicted in my never ending naming dilemma. I think of new names every day and that makes this more impossible. I am now contemplating:
Jocelyn Sky
Harper Skye
Harlow or Harlowe Sky
Lola Sky
Celeste ?
This is going to kill me (Jocelyn and Harlowe both meet the 3,5,7 and 8,9,10 criteria)!

Horse and Buggy
In case you were wondering...
Name possibilities:
Maleia Skye
Jocelyn Sky
Some people are really into naming their kids after important people or relatives but not me. I am all about the organization of it all. I LOVE that both my kids so far have been born on the first. I have put a lot of thought into this. I just love when everything adds up. For example (try and follow me here):
Nya (3 letters) Bliss (5 letters) = 8 letters total
Iylah (5 letters) Jade (4 letters) = 9 letters total
Jocelyn (7 letters) Sky (3 letters) = 10 letters total
Do you see it yet? Their first names have chronological odd numbers and their middle and last names both have descending
number order. That kind of does it for me. I really like that idea. I still like Maleia and it does meet the total number criteria if spelled as above. I am not sure if I like Maleia because it goes so well with Nya and Iylah or if I just like it because I like it. I am getting closer to a decision.

Christmas program
Early Christmas
So, my mom decided that both the girls needed HUGE Christmas presents. Nya got a pink power wheels Escalade and Iylah got a horse and buggy power wheels. Nya did not waste any time taking it out for a spin around mom's neighborhood and then our neighborhood the very next day. It was a huge hit all around the board.

Ugggggggg
Well, after much debate I have determined that the spelling of Miya will not work. Everyone seems to think that people will say MYA and that is incorrect. I want the kids to have names that are similar but NOT rhyming. I think we might go with Maleia Skye instead. This is also great for my crazy OCD because Nya Bliss has 8 letters in her name, Iylah Jade has 9 letters and Maleia Skye has 10 letters! This is very hard since there are soooo many factors to consider. The only other name that I like is Harper Skye and I do not think that goes well with Nya and Iylah at all though it would meet the 10 letter criteria!

The Name Game
Sooooooo, I am constantly being asked if I have chosen a name for this baby girl yet and the answer is usually NO. The problem is that I have a lot of criteria when it comes to baby naming. I want the names to be similar to their siblings but NOT too similar, NOT RHYMING and I want them to be in the same genre. I also want them to be original, short, feminine and culturally sensitive. I have been stuck on the name Mia. I feel like it goes great with Nya and Iylah. I really like the idea of having a Mia in our family. I was very disappointed to find out that the name Mia was ranked 14th most popular name in 2008 according to the social security website. When I looked up Nya it was not even listed since 2006 and even back then it was only ranked #964th. Iylah is not even listed with her spelling at all but the traditional spelling (Isla) was ranked at 623rd in 2006 and has not been ranked since then either. Well, that got me thinking...there are other ways to spell Mia and when it is spelled MIYA is was ranked 981st in 2007!!! That would make it the least common name of all my kids. I think I am sold on it. Her name will be Miya Sky Davy....

Christmas parade
I took the kids to the Winter Garden Christmas parade. It was pretty low key but they loved it. Nya got to hang with her best buds Sebastian and Tyler. Then we took them across the street to see a free showing of Curious George Christmas at the Winter Garden Theater. It was Iylah's first movie theater experience and she did great, for the most part...
P.S. The kids are making those silly faces because those horses in front of them were really STINKY!

Santa, Thanksgiving and the 1st haircut!
So we have had a busy couple of days. We went and got our picture taken with Santa (Nya likes to give him her list in person every year). Then we had a great Thanksgiving at my mom's house. We had a full house and Nya got to play and run around with all the kids all day. It is a miracle that nobody puked up their turkey dinner after immediately going on the trampoline following the feast! Then, the next day, Iylah got her very first (very needed) hair cut. She looks so cute and we finally have a little control over that crazy mop of hers now.

Nya's "school"party
Every year Nya has a school birthday party. They celebrate all the kids in that particular month that have a birthday. Well, this year Nya was the only November birthday. The kids do not like being the center of attention in front of the class at this age. They sang her happy birthday and made her a special birthday book from all her friends. I brought in cupcakes for the class and Iylah even got to stay and have one, she was soooo excited to sit at Nya's table.

Random
I have not been taking a lot of pictures lately because we have been so busy doing other things. I do have a few random pictures. The one on the yellow slide was Iylah's very first "Chik-Fila" play ground experience. I never let her go in and she really never even noticed it. But the other day she watched Nya go in the play area and she was gonna miss out on that fun. There is also a picture from my birthday dinner with the girls. We went out for a nice dinner at my favorite Thai place. We had so much fun and it was great to be with adults only, that never really happens in my life these days! Thanks to Yelena for planning it all!!!
