I spent a good part of tonight watching all three of my girls dance gleefully around the play room. They were ALL adorned in tattered (loved) princess gowns and gaudy costume jewelry. They were dancing/frolicking to the song that is playing on my play list right now (Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift). The did not see me watching them but all I could think to myself is that childhood should have some sort of reverse dog years theory. Let me explain...You know how they say that dogs age 7 years per 1 human year? Well, children should do that but in the reverse form. Like, maybe they could stay the same age for 7 years instead of just that one fleeting year that seems to fly by WAY too quickly.
I am glad that I did not run to get my camera to try and tangibly capture that perfect moment. I will have this mental picture for much, much longer (and I did not miss any of it by trying to scamper for my camera). I hate that they are growing up, I really hate it. Anyways, it was a really great moment. Sorry, I do not have the pictures to prove it.
