We had such an amazing time with Angela, Gavin and Xavier. It was so nice to be together again and this time as PARENTS! The last time that Angela and I really spent any real quality time together was when we were at the height of our "no responsibilities, total freedom, 100% selfish" lifestyle. Well, how times have changed! Here I am with 3 kids and she has a 4 year old and a another babe on the way. We had so much fun and I know our children will be in one another's lives forever. Good friends are hard to come by...and this trip was LONG overdue.

Seriously, my kids are friggin' hilarious!

Me: "Iyla, why do you look so annoyed right now?"
Iyla: "Because Mommy, sometimes I get sick of being best friends with you! You need a different best friend...oh wait...LET ME GO ASK LEILA! She might want to be best friends with you today."

Nya: "Mommy, I have an idea!"
Me: "Ok, what is it?"
Nya: "We should get another dog that is a white girl dog. That way, Chance can have a mixed love like you and Daddy have. Chance can be the brown boy and the white dog can be the white girl."
Me: "HAHAHAHA, I am pretty sure your Dad would never let us get another dog."
Nya: "That is just unfair for Chance...doesn't he want him to find true love?"

The other night we got home pretty late and Leila had fallen asleep in the car. I carefully unbuckled her and slowly carried her up stairs to her bed. I laid her in the bed and started to walk away when I heard this...

"What the heck...it is dark in here and change my diappie Mommy (aka diaper)."

It was so funny because - 1. I thought she was sound asleep, 2. She said it in a really funny high pitched voice, and 3. What 2 year old baby says "WHAT THE HECK?"

My friend Stacy had an awesome easter egg hunt this year. This will be an annual party for them and we are totally looking forward to the new tradition. There was over 1000 eggs for the kids to find! We had a great time and then we stuck around after the party for some fun swimming and hanging out, Carter style.

Spring Break-Anna Maria Island

We had grand plans to enjoy our spring break to the fullest but illness struck. Everyone was sick, really sick. Spring break could have been better but there is always next time. Nya and Iyla were feeling better by the time we got to AMI. They enjoyed the trip the most. Leila and I were down for the count but we still tried to make the most of it. AMI is so beautiful and it is impossible to not be in a good mood when you are there. The house we rented was so perfect. We will go back for sure!
