WARNING: Full on Bragging!

Prepare yourself because I am going to be one of those super annoying mom's that brags about how perfect their child is right now. I had Nya's fall conference this week. First of all, she has 118% grade average. That means she has scored perfect on every assignment and gotten all the possible extra credit. Lets not forget how much school she missed prior to the tonsilectomy...and she still did this well! She also took 2 different standardized tests at the start of school. On the first one, she scored higher than ANY CHILD in the second grade at her school (there are five 2nd grade classes). On the second test, she got one of the highest scores (99.3% to be exact) of all the 2nd graders in all of ORANGE COUNTY! She is also being actively screened on a weekly basis for the advanced/gifted program. She missed the gifted program by 1 point last year. She is also reading at a HIGH 5th grade level!

Ok, so we have determined that she is SUPER smart! But, she is also REALLY sweet and compassionate. There is a boy in her class with diabetes. He has to go to the school nurse 2-3 times everyday for his insulin shots and monitoring. His mother sent an email to the dean of the school and the teacher saying that her son told her that Nya never stares at him or makes him feel weird when he gets his medication. He said that she makes him laugh and tells him jokes so he does not think about his diabetes. She does not ever ask him any questions about what is wrong or why he has to go to the nurse so much. She is always looking after him and she tells the teacher when she thinks he might not be feeling too well. The teacher was going to check with his mother to see if she minded if I got a copy of the letter. I want to save it and show it to Nya when she grows up. How sweet is this kid??? Pure perfection!
