and then she was 4...
We had Nya's "real" birthday party at home today. She was honored with a full days worth of family videos from her early years. We watched her on tape as she has grown into such a little person. It is so hard to believe that she was a baby once. She is having another birthday party on Tuesday with all her friends and classmates.
School party
Nya made this spider hat at school. I went to her halloween party to watch her decorate her pumpkin cookie and sing spooky songs. She is the only kid who corrected her teacher when she sang the song lyrics wrong.

Nya news
So Nya and I were having one of our great talks as I get her dressed after the bath. This is when she feels the need to tell me every single thought that goes through her mind. Today the topic was "backstabbers". Let me preface by saying that I have no idea how or when she learned the concept of a backstabber. She begins to tell me that 2 little boys in her class are backstabbers and I asked why. She says, "because Mommy, they threw an alligator at my back and it stabbed me". Then she says, "they also threw and alligator at Lilly's arm so I guess they are also arm-stabbers". Hilarious!!!

True love...
So, I was doing Nya's hair for school one morning. This is usually when she comes up with her most hilarious comments (well that and also while in the car). She tells me that the neighbor boy (Junior) kissed her on the cheek. And I responded with a kind of shock and said that he better not be kissing her on her cheek because she is only 3 years old. She then told me, very matter of factly, "no Mommy, he did not kiss me on my lips because that would be like TRUE LOVE!" Too many princess movies I guess. Yikes!!!
