Iyla's official birthday was a huge success. She woke up to our traditional "bedroom balloons", followed by some really fun presents waiting for her downstairs. Daddy got her a bubble blowing lawn mower which was a giant hit. We then went to Dunkin Donuts so Iyla (and Nya) could enjoy their favorite glazed donut holes. After we dropped Nya off at camp, we went to Iyla's 2 year well check. She is 24 pounds (at 24 months, coincidence?) which puts her in the 15th percentile but she is in the 95th percentile for height at 35 inches. She did not need any shots and won't get any more until age 5. YAY!!!
After that, we went to Target so she could pick out another present for herself. She picked out a baby doll that she can feed, change and "doctor". That was chosen after she had already picked out 17 other toys which I just kept slipping back onto the shelves when she was not looking. Then, we picked up Nya and went to the local park with a bunch of friends for a picnic and some playing. Then, we went to "mom's" house. My mom had gotten Iyla a very yummy cake, GIANY DORA balloon (which she asked for the entire ride home), a cool Toy Story 3 bear, and a power wheels horse and buggy (same one form xmas but now it is more age appropriate). My mom also made a great dinner and everyone had a blast. Iyla's friend Lilly came over and brought her a wonderful present. It was a Princess and Frog musical instrument set. She LOVES it...
I cannot believe my little girl is already 2. I remember when I brought her home from the hospital. I used to pace the driveway in the middle of the night because the hot sticky air was so good for her little respiratory issues. I would up and down the stairs with her because she loved the motion and I would do it all over again. She would stop crying instantly the second I took her outside. I never thought it was possible to love another child the way that I love Nya, but it sure is. Here are some highlights from our day.
