Nya's peeps

Suzie's St. Patty's party!

Funny kids!

I am getting the hang of this three-kid business. I have gotten my "OH MY GOD, DID I FORGET THE BABY AT HOME" moments to only about 3-4 a day. Let me clarify, I have never ACTUALLY forgotten the baby at home (or anywhere) but I have moments where I cannot remember carrying her out to the car in the mad dash to take or pick up Nya from school. SO, we are getting that under control. We are hoping for good news about Leila's hips in the next few weeks so we can avoid the possibility of casting her. As much as I wish she had nothing wrong with her hips, I am aware that things could be much, MUCH worse than this. So we are taking it day by day. Nya and I have been watching the Discovery series "Life" and I do think I might have the makings of a future photo journalist on my hands. She is very into the ways that these moments were captured and how long it must have taken to get some of these shots. All very interesting through the eyes of a 5 year old.

BBQ

We went to a super fun BBQ with our friends the other day. Iyla really wanted to get in on the football game with Suzie and the big boys. Janet bought Leila her easter outfit, how cute is she???

Jax and Cayden

Jackson and Stacy drove over from Vero the other day to visit us and meet new baby Leila. Cayden and Erin came over also and the kiddos had a super fun play date. Iyla really liked playing "ring around the rosie" with Erin and Cayden...can you tell!

Lately...

Baby Leila had her very first bath today and I managed to get some nice shots in a rare moment of calmness. She cried the rest of the time because I think she was a little bit freaked out. Later on, I got some pictures of the goofballs in the bath together. These two are hilarious.

Newness all around...

We have been settling in very nicely. I have had a lot of help from my parents, Janet, my in-laws and my friends. We are getting everything in order little by little. I have been terrible about taking pictures but I managed to snap a few this morning. Nya was upstairs playing nicely in her new playroom, Iyla and Oliver were sharing breakfast (as usual) and baby Leila was resting in her swing (while listening to some classical music). AND...as you see from the photo...the house is ALL done and looking good. We just need to get the grass to turn green again, damn cold.

THANK YOU SUZIE!

As you all know, I have some really great friends! Well, my wonderful friend Suzie has organized a meal delivery service for the kids and I. I really appreciate it and I do not know how I ended up with such generous friends. I will try and take photos of the meals and post them so you all can see. Thank you again Suz, you are THE BEST!!!

more pics of Leila Sky

LEILA SKY DAVY HAS ARRIVED!

Baby Leila is working her way into our crazy family. I have a feeling she is going to be a great baby. She is already proving to be a great eater, so hopefully we keep that going. The delivery was a little crazy with the whole c-section and everything. I am fortunate to have a lot of friends and family helping me out right now so that is really wonderful. I could not have survived my first 48 hours with Leila if it were not for Erika Froling. She was really awesome during everything and I would have been so lost without her there with me. She is also responsible for taking all of the great pictures of Leila's first moments. Erika Dold was awesome while we waited for the final outcome of the delivery. I appreciate all their love and support during this. My mom and Jan saved the day (well a lot of the days) by keeping Nya and Iyla happy and safe for me. Nya never wanted to come home again. I stayed with my mom and Jan after I got out of the hospital because going all the way home seemed a bit too daunting on my first day out of the hospital. I am so lucky to have such a great family and group of friends to help me during all of this. I know these days will go by quickly but right now they seems really long and endless. I am happy to have my 3 healthy girls and I am going to try and relax and not stress out during these next few months.

BIG day

I cannot believe that my little Leila Sky will be here tomorrow. This new song says a lot about how I am feeling about her arrival. My favorite line is..."most kind of stories, save the best part for last". This baby will complete our family and I could not be happier about it! Pictures to come....

Tonsil news

So, the latest news with Nya's ever growing tonsil is that it formed a peritonsillar abscess on it. I dare you to do a google image search of that term and you will be throughly grossed out. I guess all the irritation caused the abscess and that started to cause her A LOT of pain. I also read that the EBV (epstein-barr virus or MONO) can cause this too. Well, we determined with all the tests last week that she has had mono sometime in the last 45 days so maybe this is a side effect from that whole thing. We went to the after hours children's clinic and they ruled out strep throat right away with a strep test. She is on antibiotics to cure and heal the abscess and I have her on Motrin every 6 hours to control the pain. We are going to lay low tomorrow since it will be the last day we are a family 4. Baby Leila is due to arrive on Tuesday morning, let the madness begin!

Dog love

Sometimes I really hate having a dog because of all the extra work it takes. And then there are times like this. Kids need a dog. I had to be very quiet to capture these moments without the kids seeing me.
