Santa, Thanksgiving and the 1st haircut!

So we have had a busy couple of days. We went and got our picture taken with Santa (Nya likes to give him her list in person every year). Then we had a great Thanksgiving at my mom's house. We had a full house and Nya got to play and run around with all the kids all day. It is a miracle that nobody puked up their turkey dinner after immediately going on the trampoline following the feast! Then, the next day, Iylah got her very first (very needed) hair cut. She looks so cute and we finally have a little control over that crazy mop of hers now.

Nya's "school"party

Every year Nya has a school birthday party. They celebrate all the kids in that particular month that have a birthday. Well, this year Nya was the only November birthday. The kids do not like being the center of attention in front of the class at this age. They sang her happy birthday and made her a special birthday book from all her friends. I brought in cupcakes for the class and Iylah even got to stay and have one, she was soooo excited to sit at Nya's table.

Random

I have not been taking a lot of pictures lately because we have been so busy doing other things. I do have a few random pictures. The one on the yellow slide was Iylah's very first "Chik-Fila" play ground experience. I never let her go in and she really never even noticed it. But the other day she watched Nya go in the play area and she was gonna miss out on that fun. There is also a picture from my birthday dinner with the girls. We went out for a nice dinner at my favorite Thai place. We had so much fun and it was great to be with adults only, that never really happens in my life these days! Thanks to Yelena for planning it all!!!

Santa's Arrival

We went to see Santa arrive at the mall tonight. He rides in his magic sleigh to the mall and lands on the roof. They have a huge party with music and "snow" to welcome him and then he lights the giant tree. Nya saw a bunch of her school friends and they danced and had a blast. Iylah was very impressed by the fake snow (a.k.a. soap suds). I told Nya on the way there that she should make sure that Santa sees her so he can see how cute she is and then he will remember to bring her everything on her x-mas list. Her response was, "Mommy, he will remember how cute I am from last year. We need for him to see you and Iylah so then he will bring you guys the stuff on your lists!"

All in all, great night!

P.S. I forgot my good camera so the picture quality is pretty lousy.

winter...sort of!

It was less than 70 degrees for about a half an hour this morning so I decided to dress Iylah in one of her many winter outfits. Lets just say that I had to remove her hat, pants and socks by noon!

Nya's 5th birthday party!!!

Nya's party was perfectly GREAT! It was so much fun and the kids were beyond entertained. She had such a great time and they were so busy from start to finish. They did a fashion show, crafts (frame/jewelry box) and games (freeze dance and karoke) and got their hair, make-up, nails, tattoos and glitter done. It was pretty funny to watch them sing, dance and strike a pose. They loved every minute of it and so did I!!!

Presents!!!!!

Nya Bliss hit the jackpot yet again! She scored big on the presents this year. She opened some at my mom's house on Saturday afternoon and then some more on Sunday morning and then even more when her friends were here for her party. I will say that I do feel fortunate that we can offer such a great and memorable birthday to our girl each and every year. Lucky little peanut deserves every bit of it!

Trick or treating

This was a great halloween because both children really enjoyed the entire trick or treating experience. We trick or treated in Sebastian's neighborhood. We went to a halloween party at Suzi's afterwards. The party so great and very well done! My kids cannot really function well after 8:30 so we left around 8:45 and called it a night!

P.S. Iylah was going to be a butterfly this year but she was a little too big for the costume so we had a really cute chicken costume that my sister sent us. Nya kept yelling..."Baby chicken on the loose!!!"

Splash park

We went to the splash park for a mini-party on Friday with Nya and few of her buddies. They played in the water and ate cupcakes (made by me).

Halloween...

So, we started off this halloween with a fun halloween performance and parade at Nya's school. She did a great job in her adorable gypsy costume (my favorite costume thus far).
